Christian MicheloniUniversity of Udine
Christian Micheloni received the laurea degree (cum laude) as well as a Ph.D. in Computer Science respectively in 2002 and 2006 from Università degli Studi di Udine, Italy. Since 2007 he is Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DIMI), Università degli Studi di Udine. Since 1999 he has taken part to the Italian and the international research. Within these, he cooperated to different projects supported by the MURST (University and Scientific Research Ministry) for “Intelligent Systems for Processing and Transmission of Multidimensional Signals for Real-Time Video-Surveillance Applications” (1999-2000); for “Distributed systems for multisensor recognition with augmented perception for ambient security and customization” (2002-04); for “Ambient Intelligence: event analysis, sensor reconfiguration and multimodal interfaces” (2006-2008). With respect to the European research he has been under contract for the European Projects MAST III CT97-0079 HOLOMAR and the BRITE-CRAFT BRST-CT98-5312 VENFLEX (Visual Recognition and Mechanical Handling of Flexible Materials). He has been responsible for the conceptualization of the operational scenario within the PASR-SEC-204400 HAMLET (Hazardous Material Localisation & Tracking). He has co-authored different scientific works published in International Journals and Refereed International Conferences. Dr. Micheloni’s main interests involve active vision for the understanding of dynamic scenes, pattern recognition techniques for the detection and recognition of faces and adaptive communication systems for video streaming. All these interests are focused to the development of systems for improving security and safety. He is member of IEEE and IAPR.
